What we Lost along the way (trailer)

What We Lost Along the Way is a poignant short documentary that follows three close friends from the inner city as they venture to the breathtaking Oregon coast in search of peace, connection, and a sense of belonging in nature. Through their eyes, we experience the beauty and tranquility of the coastal landscape, challenging the stereotypical notion that the great outdoors is not a space for Black people. With stunning visuals and heartfelt narratives, What We Lost Along the Way is a celebration of friendship, resilience, and the universal human desire to find peace and connection in the world around us.

GENeva, a woman

Geneva’s Shear Perfection, was a historic Black barbershop in Portland, OR that closed during the pandemic after nearly 30 years of business. The establishment was co-owned by married couple Paul and Geneva Knauls. This film is a visual love letter from Paul to his late wife Geneva, with whom he shared a life of romance and business that paved the way for Black Portlanders today; it is a legendary story of love that celebrates and bids farewell to one of the most significant spaces and figures in Portland history.

where we goin ep. 1

Where We Goin is an episodic documentary series about Black artistry and entrepreneurship that examines the significance and impact of community. Hosted by filmmaker Devin Boss, this pilot episode explores the life of Portland Trailblazers DJ OG One and his escape from gang adjacent life in Watts, California, to his transition to Portland, OR, and rise to celebrity DJ. We’ll also meet the Creative Homies, owners of Downtown Portland BIPOC creator space The Horizon Enterprise Building. This is a journey through the city of Portland like you've never seen, through a fresh new Black lens.

The kidz outside

The Kidz Outside festival is an annual community event put together by rapper Mat Randol and Writer Donovan Scribes, that seeks to bring awareness to the need for revitalization of North Portland’s George Park, through dynamic local performances, food, and family friendly activities.

BRAVO YOUTH ORCHESTRA

BRAVO creates opportunities for kids from all backgrounds to learn music in an ensemble setting, develop listening skills, foster respect for others, and discover a sense of belonging. This BRAVO story follows Alessandro Ayala, a cellist and sophomore at Jefferson High School who started participating in BRAVO programs at an early age, beginning when he was attending Sitton Elementary.
